Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
Portable equipment which is not part of a fixed installation but when used is connected to a fixed installation (or a generator), by means of a flexible cable, plug and socket constitutes a portable appliance. It includes equipment that is hand held or hand operated while connected to the power supply. It also includes extension leads, power leads, plugs and sockets, and cord sets that supply portable equipment and are not part of the fixed installation, since they operate in the same environment and are subject to similar use as the equipment they serve. FireHow offer a transparent fixed fee service per appliance so you can plan your budget.
Wet/Dry Riser Testing and Hydrants
Risers are installed in buildings usually over 4 stories for firefighting purposes for use by NIFRS and which are normally dry and are capable of being charged with water by pumping from Fire Service Appliances. All risers and Fire Hydrants should be periodically inspected and maintained. FireHow trained engineers use approved flow meters and can provide read outs and certification at competitive rates to ensure you are fully compliant.
Fixed Wiring Testing
Electricity at Work Regulations require that there is a legal responsibility by employers and the self-employed to complete Fixed Wire (17th Edition) Testing at their premises. FireHow provide fixed wire testing and issue EICR certificate to keep your business fully compliant.
Fire Sprinklers systems
The requirement for sprinkler systems is usually laid out by the Building Control Officer (BCO). FireHow can talk with your BCO to ensure that the relevant requirements are met whilst achieving a minimum financial cost.
All our systems are designed, installed and maintained in accordance with British Standards. Systems can be wired, wireless or a combination of both.
